N/s door doesnt lock, common?

Just noticed this when getting my locking wheel nut out to do rear brakes. Wont lock or unlock. This is a common fault with Nissans that use Renault based parts, but they usually either wont lock or unlock, but will do one of the other. No noises and cant feel any action through the door, as if its lost all power. Going to strip the door and check feeds and earths. Just wondered if anyone else has come across this, and is it common?

Problem fixed. Was a poor contact on the door lock actuator wiring, incase anyone else has the same problem.

I was hoping your problem was the same, but mine locks, just doenst unlock, I hope its just one of the rods needs re-connecting or whatever.

Pull the doorcard off and have a look. It has 2 wires into the lock, both should be earth when inactive, then one will switch to live when locking, and the other will go to live when unlocking. I sprayed the whole lock with wd40 then blew it out with compressed air to get the crap out. Give it a go, its a doddle to do.

My drivers side is like this. Didn't work at all for ages with the central locking, worked for awhile, but then has in the past few days started to stop working again.

Usually un doing the 3 bolts in the sill area of the door, loosens the lock up. Some WD40 in there and it works. Mega annoying though. Just one of those things I guess.
