N00b i-Pod cable question for 182

I don't know much about the standard 182 stereo, so which cable would I need to connect it to an iPod? I take it that it would involve ejecting the unit out itself and then connecting the cable to the rear?

Does the cable simply connect to the earphone connector of the iPod, or does it have the longer, rectangle type connector?

I'm just not too convinced on the iPod radio docking thingies. I've got one of the Belkin ones that sits in your cig-lighter, but try as I might, there are two sections on the way to work where I get really bad interferance. I've tried loads of different frequencies, but nothing works properly.

Any help or advice would be great. I'm not clued-up on stuff like this at all.

Guy on here sells cables so you can connect a Generic MP3 player to it via the earphone sockett.

I bought a cable off ebay a while back, only a simple thing. Plugs into the back of the stereo where the disk changer would connect. Then ran it into the glovebox so the ipod (or any other mp3 player) can plug in through the earphone socket. Probably not the last word in quality, but then who cares with the road/engine/tyre noise anyway. Set me back £12 iirc.

Is your CD player a update list one? If yes you can get a cable from FloridaDaz on here.

If your CD player isn't the update list one (like mine), I've got a Connects2 setup.
