n00b SLR question / SD card question!

Hola,

This is the first time I have visited this section of the forum... :approve:

I purchased a Canon 500D camera yesterday, something I have wanted to get into / learn for a while now!

So here is the first n00b question (And I have searched before asking )


What SD cards do people use / recommend?

any specific type / brand to go for?

Sandisk Extreme 4GB x 2 = job done, although I think the Ultra version would be plenty quick enough TBH.

Sandisk are the best. Not sure if that camera does video, if it does you might want a better card than a class 2.

If it's just for photos, class 2 should be fine.

ahh I was hoping you would see this Dan

yeah it does full 1080 video, but I'll just be doing photos for the most part!

Which Sandisk card would you recommend?

Ah as it does 1080p video, class 2 might not quite cut it. Basically that 'class' bit means how fast the card is, and to write 1080p videos to it, it will need to be fairly fast.

Thats a bloody cheap too, considering its RRP!
