anyone else using route 66 with the internal gps reciever yet?

bit of a hassle signing the software to your imei, but once it's working it picks up the satallites quicker than the standard maps software.

can't wait for tomtom to hurry up and sort out internal gps support though, cos although better than maps, route 66 is still pretty lame compared to tomtom.

it's honestly not half as bad as people make out when u use it with route 66, but yeah it's crappy when used with the maps software. i think it's more down to software than the actual reciever itself.

If I recall correctly the receiver is not based on the newer SiRF III chipset but the older and weaker version which is a huge negative point.

i find my n95 picks up satellites very quickly even in bad weather. i was sitting in my house two nights ago and it picked up at least 4 satellites and pin pointed me in 30-40 secs, adam where can i get route 66 from?

i can't tell u where to get route66 cos that's against forum rules, do a google search.

there is a thread on allaboutsymbian with it all detailed, and all the links you'll need for the software and to sign the sis file with your imei number.

i found on mine a way to get it to pick up signal very quick, is to find yourself as such.

so locate where you are on the map and its seems to pick up signal quicker

if anyone wants a BB5 phone unlocked (6630 6680 n70 etc) let me know

i aint used the internal reciever much , got tom tom 6 on using bluetooth reciever in car n thats fine.

only think i`d use the internal one if i was walkin in a town i didnt know etc, no real nead for it

Its no way near as bad as people make out, mine takes about 30-40 seconds to get the satalite and its never dissconected while im using it in the car.
