Name that bolt... (with pics)

  172DD Cup
hi all, budgie from here helped (= did most of the work) take the gearbox off my car and i'm going to attempt to refit it on the weekend. i've got plenty of bolts but not sure where they are from. i could probably figure it out as i go along by powers of deduction, but figure i may as well try and get a head start. we undid both manifolds, slam panel, starter motor, engine and upper and lower gearbox mounts, so those bolts are in there somewhere. also both driveshafts and struts but dunno if they are in the picture. the gearbox-to-engine and subframe bolts are not in the picture.
let's see how you do... i guessed a couple, feel free to correct me. (glove 1, glove 2, budgie put the bolts together in a glove thus bolts may be related)

thanks :)

Dan's pretty much spot on.

M- TDC sensor bolts.
O- the power feed to the starter motor. The garage who did it before probably knackered the old nut.
Also, I can't see from the pic, but J and K look like the brackets at the back of subframe to body. They'll have a torx bit in the head itself.

Any difficulties- drop me a call. :)

those exhaust manifold nuts, i've got 11 of them in total- 9 for the manifold, what would the other 2 be for?

i've also got this, recognise it but couldn't place it,

sorry, i'm back again. got some bolts left. the top row all have 8mm heads, the bottom three have 10mm heads. all heads are solid.

bolt D- Dan mentioned as tie bar- is this the bar from the end of the dogbone to the gearbox? if so, this is fitted so this bolt is spare...? unless i've used wrong bolt.

bolt J- still not sure, could they be the bolts for the side of the front bumper?

bolt E- earth strap, i haven't bolted this in yet. budgie you mentioned it bolts from subframe to gearbox, do you know where abouts on the gearbox it bolts to?

bolts 1 and 2, i've no idea. bolts 1 look like they hold some plastic on, i still need to screw that big plastic wire-holding-thing to the top of the gearbox so i can prob use 2 or 3 of these , bolt 2 looks like it lives under the car as it's rusted good

really appreciate your help, i'm a bit concerned about being left with too many bolts

this looks like the speedo sensor heat shield it just clips on to it m8

Yep, it's the speedo sensor heatsheild.

Latest pic of bolts isn't working for me..

Earthstrap bolts from the lower gearbox mount to the body/chassis. Pretty much, anywhere you bolt it on will be fine, as long as there's a good connection between the body and the gearbox.

when i can be bothered i'll write it out

A - 16mm nut, underside of the front lower box mount
B - pad carrier to hub, 18mm
C - Lower box mount to gearbox (16mm)
D - driveshaft bolts x 3 (13mm)
E - earth strap "i think" (16mm)
F - slam pannel 13mm
G - possible airbox, depends on length
H - plenum front 5
I - plenum rear 2
J - don't look oe, might be for holding the loom onto the end of the inlet main by the cam cover/the other for the AC line by the rad
K - look like bumper bolts to me, should have 4 in total (plus 4 for undertray)
L - upper engine mount to chassis (16mm)
M - crank sensor (10mm)
N - exhaust mani
O - looks like the nut for th upper aternator bolt

i'll do the rest when i wake up a bit

ah

1 - bumper bolts/undertray
J - holds the loom onto the upper gearbox 3 legged bracket looking at that photo
2 - not from a renault
E - is for holding the loom onto the inlet, just by fuel rail i think
