NASTY ENGINE RATTTTLE on my valver

Idles ok as normal, but when revs get above about 2.5k nasty "clatter" happens.
almost sounds like a small pebble in the cylinder, but obviously it's not

This started after a blast up the bypass.

My thought's are - possibly a valve spring done or something allowing a cam lobe to slap on a tappet..

NEED HELP!

hmm, i have a similar problem, except mine is first thing in morning when engine is cold and it is idling at 1000 revs.. get like a rattle sound coming from exhaust, kinda like a stone being blown out etc.. on and off, like every 2 or 3 secs, till car warms a little and idles as normal.

Got exhaust checked and all is fine, not blowing and no corrosion.. only fitted it a few months ago.. any ideas what it could be?

could it also be linked to this other problem i have in that the car is jerky and hesitant when the engine is cold? but fine when engine warms up?

i don't know about that one.
My car heated fully and the Rad Fan came on and the noise was still there at 2.5K +

check your oil level - sorry if that sounds like i'm teaching you to suck eggs.
Low oil can cause tappetty heads
