ne1 heard of the Perfect Power SMT-6

Yeah Ive heard of it as Im having mine finally fitted this weekend and will post updates on it on monday.

What Ive heard its soposed to be really good with almost endless tuning options and eay to use. I know a couple of m8s here in Iceland who have had them fitted (including a BMW with turbo) and like it a lot.

Well, from what it says on the website it "sounds" very good!

Be interested in the results that Svezel gets...

A little update on the smt6 piggy back install as wee tried a couple of weeks ago.

The first problem was that Perfect Power hadnt published any wiring diagrams for the 172 ecu(Siemens Sirius34) so we used Sirius 32(which pretty much all other Reanults use) diagrams. The wires are the same so this is ok.

We begun as as indicated connecting one signal at a time and testing it and everything was going well untill we tried connecting the ignition signal. The smt6 couldnt read the rpms correctly and after a couple of attemps to set the smt6 to read the signal the engine stalled and wouldnt start. We then disconnected the signal wire, connected the ecu again normally and emailed perfect power.

We then got an email from PP just the other day and they said they didnt have any wiring diagrams for the 172 but did tell us how to set up the smt6 for the signal(how mant toots per cycle etc).

So were going to try to finish installing the smt6 again shortly and if the ignition keeps on bugging us well have to skip connecting the ignitinon to the smt6. Then well just fool the ecu telling it that the engine is cold so itll advance the ignition by itself.

Will keep you posted.

Doesnt the ecu advance the ignition when the engine is cold?

We cant advance the ignition if the smt6 cant comunicate properly with the ignition or is there another way?
