Need a Favour from Someone with a Mk2 Ph2 !!!

Any engine as long as its got the trip computer fitted (so dynamique or 172) can you turn the ignition to the run position but don't start the engine and tell me if the oil warning light goes out after a few seconds or does it stay on until you start the engine ?
Need to work out if my oil pressure sender is shot or if its just leaking.

My oil light goes out. But Ive had a problem before where ignition is switched on and it didnt go off, my car was fine, turned out the ECU needed replacing, and was fine once I had it replaced under warranty at Reno.

Good stuff, looks like the sensor itself is fine then and it'll just need taking out cleaning and resealing and all will be fine again I hope.

Mine goes off and in every other car I've seen it doesn't go off until you start the engine so wondered if it was fooked.

Cool mate, hope it's just the sensor as my ECU was knackered. All the best with it.

Thats what I wanted to hear, have had the sender off and it quite loose so hermatited and and screwed it back in and heres to hoping it does'nt leak anymore, fingers crossed.
