Need advice on wheel sizes

  Clio mk2 ph2
(Car noob here)
I have a Mk2 1.2 16v clio and the standard wheel size is 14". Im looking for alloys, can i go to a higher size or will that affect the function of the car?

Its only a low-powered car.Stick to the wheels you have, just make sure the tyres are the very best you can afford, ie best wet grip.
Larger wheels simply mean more inertia to overcome when accelarating, and more wheel to brake when slowing down

Generally when you buy bigger alloys, the tyres walls are thinner to essentially compensate that, so usually the size of wheel+tyre is the same.

Without examples of alloys you want it's hard to tell though!
