Need advise on engine conversion!!!



  Clio 1.9 diesel mk1
hey i got a slug for a car with a mk1 clio 1.9 diesel, i wanna put summat a little faster in, i was thinking about a 1.4 clio engine. is this possible? and is it a big job? will i need both the engine and the gearbox? Mant thanks Ricky

I'm sorry if it's not quite the awnser you are looking for, but I think most people will advise you to sell the diesel and but a petrol.

For the cost/hastle involved it is better to buy a whole car.
I would emagine you could sell your car and buy a Valver (1.8 16v) with the money from yours+about £1k

in any case, the diesel gearbox has a lower ratio'd gearbox doesnt it? thats the case with most dervs anyway

Swop the gearbox as well.
However the diesel box would have some advantages the rpm at motorway speeds would be nice and low so better mpg only thing is acceleration would be down.
