need help/advise removing the cat from my '99 1.2

Im abit stuck at the moment, I need to get the cat off my car but the studs are rounded off.
I have phoned around quite a few local garages and exhaust places to get them to remove the cat and not one place will do it unless they supply and fit a new one (and prices was in the region of £230 plus vat).
Since ive already sourced a cat (and got a free manifold thrown in, all for £30 from the scrap man) I would prefer to do the work myself or pay to have just the 2 studs removed as I want to keep the costs as low as poss (i bought the car as abit of a project for £80).

Any help/ideas will be great

are these the bolt to the engine then if so just break them off or use some penetrating oil etc to get them out

No its the 2 studs/bolts from the cat to the manifold.
I have tried oiling them and also tried heating with blowtorch its just rounding them off worst than they already are

Sounds like you'll have to cut them off with a hacksaw or if theres no space a dremel with a decent cutting disc.

Theres hardly any space and dont have/know anybody with a dremel either :-(
A bloke at one of the exhaust places i went told me they use some wierd socket that grips to rounded bolts/studs, but he wont do it unless they supply and fit..anybody know anything about these sockets? never heard of these before??

You can get tools from halfords etc to do this

I went into halfords today and the r****d looked at me like I was an idiot and told me he didnt know what I was on about :-(
I dont suppose anyone knows what these sockets are called? Need to get it sorted asap
