  clio rs
car was parked in a really tight gap last night and notice this scuff,
is there anyway to fix it without a respray. What are my options?:dapprove:

Most of it should T-Cut out i would think. Not sure about the quite deep bit at the top though but best to get it washed and t-cutted then see what its like after that

Lol, thats not t-cutting out, most of that looks like respray/chips away.
+1 that wont even polish out with a rotary. PMSL at T-cut.

Respray job dude 100%.

Blow in and blend if they can get away with doing it - about 60 quid.

Tcut will make it alot better, of course it wont be perfect but from experience those type of scuffs look worse than they are.

Get a clay bar, some lube give it a few clays and washes then give it a few coats of tcut and seal it.. guarantee it will look alot better.

If you want it perfect obviously a respray is needed.

So are you guys saying that he shouldnt even try?

Having scuffed my 172 cup bumper like that previously, almost all of that will come out with a good clean. Get some wd40 and elbow grease on it to remove most of the alien paint/ muck for starters. Then give it a good polish.

The scratches at the top are right through to the plastic though. You can make it look much better than it is.

Yep will look a lot better with some cleaner/polish/t-cut whatever you will but ultimately you will need to get it sprayed!

waste of time

99% of that is through the laquer and paint

Its not a waste of time at all. For 30 minutes work to make it look a hell of a lot better you class that as a waste of time?

I've t-cutted paint that looks the same as that and '99%' of the time what your seeing is actually residue from the other car / wall / object and will be removed with a clay bar. I agree the top bit is worse but the majority of it will come up fairly well...

That will polish, buff right out... with some TLC.

Except on the top where the black plastic shows.
Touch it up with a Basecoat touch-up set and clear it over.

I know, especially with Metallics... the whole bumper needs to be resprayed.

But hey let the guy polish it out and see if he is happy and can live with it.
A 'rude' touch-up is always better then a black stripe of plastic showing.

Besides the plastic showing through is beneath the crease, so less visable in direct sunlight.

LMAO @ All of the T-Cut suggestions.

I wouldn't take T-Cut anywhere near my clio.

It will definitely need a respray though, I wouldn't attempt it yourself unless you've done it before!

Small drop of thinners might remove the white bits (looks like paint to me). If you can catch any of it with your finger nail then don't waste your time.

I'm a painter btw.

Update: just spent at hour on it with paint restorter, wd40 and touch up paint. Think this is the best i can do.

Its a machine nothing more to me
