Need Help! Just fitted induction kit (air filter) with m8 and...

  clio 1.4 petrol
Basically it sounds very nice but im having a little light flash on my dashboard the signals a zig zag line lit up and a loose wire. We also took two wires out when taking out old part and putting in new filter and basically theres no where to put these back into with new filter so im kinda worried. Instructions said to tape em up out way. Are these not needed? Another side effect to this is my car is not starting up easy now. Sounds really dodgey :S And i never told my dad about this so im kinda worrying.

I live in uddingston its near bothwell and hamilton. And not far from glasgow either. Ye but those two wires that were at the back were told in the instructions to be removed adn taped up to the side. And there was definately no where else to put them into new air filter.

Whole system i think. My m8 did it with me we took off plastic cover for enging bit. then took of the bit underneath with filter etc and disconnected it adn pulled it all out. Then we put on new one and bolted it down and stuff.

they were plugged into original air filter box at the back somewhere im sure which i had to take out to take it off to put new one on. New one is a big metal cricular thing like a disc therefore it doesnt have anything that the wires can reconnect to. It just said to tape wire up to side. But not sure it mentioned anything in regards to other tube.

ye we followerd proper instructions ill try get pics up. But it defintely said to remove some plug with wires in it to remove the standard air filter at back from under plastic cover. And it said to just tie it up. Cause theres defintely no where to put it in new air filter thats likea big saucer. Only for the hose and on other thing.

right i have a 1.6 and the throttle body is the same as yours, the cable your talking about does it have a plug on the end?

if so this is the air temp sensor, my k&n had a place where you put the air temp sensor back into the induction pipe, on your original air box there will be a sensor that the plug went into unscrew the sensor and plug it back into the plug you have, then your probably going to have to custom fit the sensor into your intake pipe, without pics i cant really suggest to you how to do it tbh, my k&n came with all the silicon pipe connectors to fit it back etc.

this is definately your problem with power etc.

get some pics up etc :)

is the air filter meant for your car?

ye its definately ment for my car the pics for diagram was exact same as my engine bay and it was ordered in for my specific car. They said its the only one that was out for mine. Ill even post the instructions if i can soon and u guys can ahve a look and see wat u think. IM getting scared cause sometimes it fails to start a little and if my dad sees this and then looks in engine and sees my kit im fooked. Cause hell think my DIY job with m8 has fucked car up or sumtin lol.
