Spinksy your best bet is to go down the scrappy and get a new outer drum brake hub part, will be much safer too..

only need to undo the big hubnut and pull it off.

okay will get a drum casing tomorrow morning but still need someone with a jack, tool to get the wheel off and tools to get the drum off... as said before will pay for the time (an hour tops if we d*ck about for a while lol)

anybody??? I seriously need this sorted before half 1 tomorrow otherwise I'm going to miss my sister's birthday :(

would be a massive help! and as said in OP I will provide beer tokens if you just come and lend me the tools (I will do the work)

Surely you can get a wrench and a socket for the hub nut. Then use the jack that comes with the car. Honestly such an easy job. If you are really not up to it take the hub to tyre fitter kwick rip ect. They might go easy on you, but I reckon they will charge you £25 for a 5 min job.

no, my family etc are in doncaster where I usually get tools from, and my jack broke a while back, I can do the job myself, just need someone nearby to borrow the tools off at least

If the internal threads are stripped then re-tapping them will only redefine them. It won't restore the amount of torque that an undamaged thread can hold.

Go for replacement as above.

not racist :O just had no reason to socialise with them...

I will but will still need tools :/ anybody close to huddersfield at all? I am willing to provide petrol money and beer money for use of your tools and half an hour of your time...(for whoever is local)

Nevermind this thread anymore, got the car at the garage paying garage prices, to replace the entire drum as the local scrappers refused to sell just the drum cover (only sell it as a whole... cnuts)...... But thanks anyways was worth a try

Rob- Wasn't an option, the car wasn't driveable down the street, let alone down the motorway (only 2 bolts held the wheel on... Slob- was 25 for the part, then 25 fitting so no too bad, I would have happily paid someone on here that to lend me their tools...
