Need help!!!





After being told that my big end bearings had gone i went and bought a Megane 2l engine to use the bottom end. Now after stripping the 16v engine down its revealed that the bearings are ok, but a piston is compleatly smashed theres all metal flakes in my inlet manifold and part of the head is wealded up!

So now i need to know (after spending over 1K on parts etc) how much work is needed to get the megane head to fit in a 16v. And what exactly is needed to do.

All help much appreciated.

if its the 16v megane it should b the same as puttin a wiily head on a valver as its the same engine,just do a search 4 willy-vaver threads
 


i read in a clio moddin bok that the 2.0 16v willy engine is the same as the 2.0 16v megan ehgine bar cosmetics. I stand corrected
 


eh, you want to put a megane head on your 1.8 block? Y?

It will need a fair amount of fabrication from the cam drive for the dizzy and machining of the housing, youll need to make or modify the inlet manifold.

Just stick your 16v head on teh megane block......oh, get a new head lol

No i have a totaly fooked 16v engine and a a1 condition megane engine. So i wanna know how much work and what is needed exactly for the whole megane engine to go in the clio.

How much is a 16v head gonna set me back and who will sell just a head?
 


not your top priority at the moment i appreaciate but the F7P (clio 16v) head on the F7R bottom end would be far and away the best combination. The ports are much smaller on themegan head and its shares little in common with the williams head, plus using the F7P saves all the other problems, there is a question over the fly wheels but your have got an F7P you can poach anyway.

other then that you will need the megan or williams starter and a williams chip in your 16v ECU which hill power can supply for £150-£180 and can be done mail order by posting your ECU.

small concellation will be it will be much quicker when its finished!

Cheers mate, i got all the stuff for the conversion was set to get it done this week till we found out my 16v head was fooked.
 


did it run? did you buy it like that? or it suddenly went down hill?

the megan F7R head might sell well anyway, certain for more then the cost of a 16v head, if properly worked with hours and hours of porting etc its potentialy a better head (i think i read Nick Hill saying that) Us real world people can buy the excellent F7P head for £100 there just no point. but as i said Ebay and youll get a decent wedge back on your outlay
 


Ive had the car for over 2 years always been well looked after never ragged the arse off it, and well maintained. Then one day just get thes loud ratteling noise apear when i went over 2k revs. Was told it was the big end bearings, then the engine compleetly stopped working. So bought the megane lump thinking my 16v head was ok. Then strip the 16v engine down and its totaly fooked, smashed piston and 4 bent valve. How i dont know or why?

Just been and bought another 16v head, but knowing my luck something else is gonna go wrong.

has the piston come away from the rod compleatly?

got any pics of it? would be intresting to see (im sad!)
 


It better be great the amount its had spent on it now.

I dont knoww mate? One of the valves looked a right state! Ill see if i can get pics for you at all.
