  GONE!!Yozza'd BG 182
when getting my belts done the black metal part which the pulleys fastned onto and slide about was damaged in the slot were the bolt and washer sat,it looked as if it had been on a long time and the washer was trying to be pulled through the slot.

anyone no the name of this part as i want a new one for next time.

and should it have been repaired (using a pencil grinder to remove the burrs) or replaced?

Yeah that's one of the three locking tools required for the timing on cambelt changes. I'm puzzled what you're asking now :S

i am totally confused now. i thought he took that off my car. the washers on the gear thing was totally mashed into the black bracket, took ages to get it off, the slot had to be grinded to get it back on. totally confused now

The two bolt bits attach to the side of the engine and the toothed bits hold the inlet and exhaust pulleys in place while the belts being removed/fitted. That would be the garages tool you have in the pic above. Did they give it to you :S
