need some help

I recently became a proud owner of my first renault I have a 1992 clio 1.4rt I have put a 16v bonnet and front wings on it, a set of tsw fly alloys, peco exhaust and lowered it 30mm I am currently smoothing the tail gate. But I am only good with styling and have no idea where to go now I want to have work done on my engine to get it to go better but have no idea where to start I was either thinking of putting a set on twin carbs on and having performance cams in ect or was considering an engine conversion can anybody help me and point me in the right direction as i am a novice when it comes to this type of thing.

How much have you got to spend engine wise?

Engine transplant is the best way to big power.
