S2000 & Clio 172
Hey there,
I've currently got a 106 gti, cam'd, remaped, bilstein suspension and a Quaife LSD.
I use it as a daily driver, and occasional track car. My friend has a 182 cup, with upgraded suspension and keeps telling me to sell my car and buy a 172 cup (more in my budget than the 182).
172 cup sounds suited to me, as it should remain track worthy as well as allowing every day use.
Ok, few questions...

This ^^^ is a video of me in my 106 gti, having a track session at castle combe. I'm curious to know how it would compare to a 172 cup on track, as you see in the vid i did pass a black 182 cup, but it wasn't really being driven that hard... I'm worried that I'd take the 172 cup on track, and not be able to be as committed and push as hard as I do in the 106 in the vid.
Secondly I'm worried I'm going to miss the LSD, I do love have the Quaife LSD, as it just grips grips grips, pulls me around bends and allows the car so much grip when on load.
I know they aren't built for straight line speed, but out of interest what 1/4 mile times have 172 cups done? My car has done a 14.8 @ 94 mph at santa pod, so i'd be interested to know what 172 cup's do the 1/4 mile in.
Finally what sort of problems may I face with a 172 cup? I've heard the gearboxes are made of chocolate?
Anyone interestin a Part Ex / Buying a 106 gti with quaife etc?
