Ive never seen the L.E.D there before. It is usually down by the gearstick.

cheers, thats what i think aswell, leads me to think there was no alarm to start with and this LED has been put in aftermarket, therefor renault being dicks and gonna rip mine out, go ooppss, then leave without an alarm for about 2 weeks while they get a new one, ggrrrrrr

I have an LED in my dash that bleeps and one by my greastick that looks like it was fitted by an extra from Changing Rooms.

Alarms are a total waste of energy in any case - everyone ignores them. Theyre just a conspiracy by the UK insurance companies that line the pockets of all those involved. Handy Andy with his portable drill at the docks, must laugh his ass off at us frankly.

Whether or not my Clio can be stolen - EVERYONE will ignore the alarm triggered by a stiff breeze or a wasp, at any time of the day.

^^^ agreed but im just having visions of them ripping the system out just to find no origial alarm (coz they wont check b4 hand i bet) and also making a sh*t job of it

i have, on my older Renault UK bought clio the alarm light was fitted on the dash and not by the gear stick, I think the majority of them seem to be fitted by the gear stick, but a small minority fit them on the dash for some reason. I wouldnt be surprised to find it does have a std Renault Alarm in there.
