Its going in this weekend to get stripped down and sorted, it's Definately the synchro. Luckily most of the costs will be covered under warranty so I'm pleased in a way that its happened now and not in 7 months time.

Oh thats awesome news mate, make sure whoever is stripping it down checks all other failure points too, and if theyre not far off going kaput, then get those sorted too whilst the gear box is out - even if you have to pay for it the extras.

I am taking the car back to Chorley where I bought it from at Renault and they are stripping the box out and sending it off to their specialist, I will ask them to replace the bearings as I should imagine with 94k on them they are passed halfway through there life. The car has literally just had a new clutch and full service from Renault so hopefully there isn't much that is needed.

Its a Renault dealer that sell used Renaults, just had a shocking train ticket price to get home! £80 for one way!

Good news regarding the box, what are the plans for it in terms of mods when you get it back?

Well I'm looking into:

springs
splitter
ktec system
ktec induction
438 cams
remap
front and rear struts
RARB
stearing wheel refurb
and to change my passenger chair to a drivers chair so it is hight adjustable like the drivers.

Most of which shall be panned out across the year

Well little update on the gearbox it's all sweet! Got her back today, new speed sensor as the old one had an intermittent fault and 3rd gear synchro replaced and the box is very smooth!

They noticed my front springs were nackered so replaced those free of charge and also put new locking wheel nuts on for me free of charge also! Car drives like a dream now.

So all in all it's only cost me £200 to have a recon box and a few other bits! I'm well chuffed. It's been along day and I have missed not having the car all week so tomorrow I think a good wash is in order for the little beauty

Skoda Splitter
Red Calipers all round
ktec induction kit

Mods to come:
cup spoiler
3/4 plate, got it just not fitted due to needing private reg change.
cooksport springs
ktec supersport stealth cat back system
maybe cold air feeds using the fogs?
Red Inlet manifold with polished lettering, same colour as filter hose.... yes or no?
