New 172 owner

Hey all!

Just bought myself an 02 172. Have to admit I bought on a whim because my brothers firm (car leasing/finance etc) got it in cheap from a part-ex and as my Corsa was off the road for a bit thought it would make a decent stop gap that I could maybe sell on at a profit.

Well bugger that, its staying and when the Corsa is fixed its on its way, this thing is just awesome! It doesnt have the same low down grunt as my Corsa (XE engined) but after 4k its just rapid and the handling is a different league, despite the Corsa having coilovers, braces, poly bushes and Goodyears.

Really surprised by the spec too, Xenons, climate control, auto lights/wipers, leather and Alc etc, all on a little French hatch! Stunning!

As you can guess Im ever the moon with it and have barely been out of the thing since I got it! Anyone out their reading this and considering buying one all I can say is do it, you wont regret it!

Just one question though, on the trip computer there are a couple of functions I dont know and the manual is French and German (Belgian import). What is the one with an arrow and a "g" and another one with an arrow and an "m". Thanks in advance.

G = Gallons of fuel used
I reckon its the maximum G Force pulled really!

M = Mileage counter (from reset)

Thanks for that, Id guessed the m one, just needed it confirming, is that for resetting after youve filled up then?
The g one is interesting, this little thing just keeps surprising me, only realised from browsing through the forums that it has a shift light! Ive hit the limiter a few times (it just flies from 4k to 7) but never seen it other than when starting, Im guessing its the little green one, Ill look out for it in future!

Yeah, its the little gearstick light - always fun to hit, but I dont get the chance very often cos the cars just too quick!
