New 182 owner-couple of questions

Hi all

Had a 55 plate 182 with cup pack for a week now.
I have just noticed that when I drive in any gear at any speed and take my foot off the accelerator there is a noise from the passenger footwell area like the car is trying to rev,almost like the choke is out.The noise disappears when I put the clutch pedal in and returns when I release.Its not a bad sound,but I am wondering whether to take it to Renault as I still have 3 months warranty left.
Also have the whistling noises under acceleration,but after doing a fair bit of searching it seems this is normal?

Nice car so far,especially the handling,but reading some of the posts on here I must say I have probably caused myself a bit of worry.....are they really as fault prone as im lead to believe?:S

is the noise like a whining noise,if so i have it,i always figured it was the noise of a gearbox tbh,and as for the whistle noise i have it also its annoying but as far as i know most 182's do it

I had the whistle noise under acceleration, turned out to be the gasket between the manifold and the cat. Quite common i hear. Get itg to reno if i were you tho mate, that what the warranty's for

If it's still under warranty, fire it into Renault for any fault you can find tbh.

tbh i fixed mine last nite,had to reseal it between the cat and centre box as it was makin a weird noise,i fort u was on about another noise

Thanks for the quick replies.
Am I right in assuming that Renault will look at it for free with it being under warranty,are there any exculsions?Dont want to be paying silly ££ to Renault when I would normally use a local garage.
Bit surprised that it could be a gasket/anything to do with the exhaust,the cars only done 17k.

well renault once said to me that they carry out the work and if it turns out that the part being changed etc isnt under warrenty you have to pay for all the work done to get to that part

Exactly, go in there and ruffle their feathers a bit and ask them exactly what you would get and at what (should be zero) charge, then at least you know what your heading for...
