New 197 pics and Rolling road result!!

Had my 197 on the rollers Saturday morning, came out with 202bhp with 148Lb/ft of torque!! Well chuffed!!

I know that rolling roads don't always give an accurate reading, but after the guy told me it was running sweet and that Clio's don't usually make their expected figures I was dead pleased with the result.

I just did it as a bit of fun since I haven't had the 197 on the rollers and wanted to see how it did since the filter and re-map. My old 172 only made 164bhp!!

It's the spoiler from the 1.2T TCE Clio, can be bought from Renault and I've heard of people finding them on ebay!

What have you done to it Mr Burns? Engine wise?

Just a live map and filter, does seem to go well atm! It can easily keep with my mates Integra DC5, whether it's his driving or not I'm not sure lol

Me too to be honest! He's pretty annoyed that I stay with his DC5, hence the re-matches lol!

I'm not trying to make out my car is mega fast... after all, his car could be down on power and I may be better at the gearchanges!!

I'm just happy with how mine is running at the mo', as many people slate the 197's performance!

£40 ITG filter and a re-map done by a friend at a "mates rate"

So I haven't spent much at all!

i tell thee..... ive yet to see a 197 be majorly down on power. All the RR results are pretty consistant. Much better than the mk2. After owning a Cup and 182, this thing pulls like a b*****d. Outdragged a fellow 172 Cup owner on here, also had a good tussle with a VXR Nurburgring Sat night. Was an eye opener, he was going nowhere Very blinkered this site when concered with the 197....

Agreed, mine feels a fair bit quicker than both my 172 and 182 cup did!

don't want to be a spoiler but...
nobody notices that the torque line is almost flat from 2500 rpm?
so he has the SAME torque in all the revs except a slight rise at 5500 ?

looks like no graph I've ever seen.

@197gaz, most of the 197s on dyno dynamics look down on power.
And all clios on Dastek rollers have more then 200bhp lol

Lucky for me mine was on there when I bought it! It's a standard Renault part though so I'm sure your local dealer can get you one! It's the spoiler from the Clio TCE

Mines around the 26-27mpg, similar to what it was before iirc
