Ive got a Clio RT 1.4, Brooklands Green, lowered 40mm front and 45mm rear, and Ive got a Rage MS-EX3 sitting in my house as I cant fit it.
Ive been to numerous garages but all say its impossible to fit, so I decided to take the route of doing it myself. My problem is that I need the right fitting kit. The bore on the back of the Rage is 2", but the original is 1 7/8". I think I need a flexible exhaust pipe and/or a reducer, and finally a few clamps.
I found these sites which offer fitting kits, but am stuck as to which one to go for, and which parts to order:
http://cars.potn.com/default.php/cPath/618_702_1471_3846?PHPSESSID=631bee22d6acaf6e4e7aa4d7818793fbhttp://cars.potn.com/default.php/cPath/618_702_1471_3846?PHPSESSID=631bee22d6acaf6e4e7aa4d7818793fb (the site I got the exhaust from, they do four different kits, but none reduce from 2" down to 1 7/8", but they do include flexible exhaust pipe and clamps.)
http://www.rageexhausts.com/http://www.rageexhausts.com/ (follow link for "Accessories", they do quite a few parts, and a reducer that goes from 2" down to 1 7/8").
http://www.rageexhausts.co.uk/www.rageexhausts.co.uk/ (when you order an exhaust you get the option of ordering a fitting kit for £20, which I presume is specific to the exhaust you order.)
Ive looked at going to powerflow, but they charge too much and its a long way away from me, so the cost effective thing to do would be to do it myself.
Also, if I get a flexible exhaust pipe, how flexible is it? i.e. if I put a clamp round a 2" flexible pipe, will it stay on a pipe thats 1 7/8" ??
I live in North London, so if anyone could suggest a place round here that would even think about fitting a universal exhaust for me, please let me know.
I read a previous post of someone who had fitted a Rage exhaust using bent pipes that he got from a garage, he had pics, but I dont know who it was and what his/her name was??
Any help appreciated.
