haa, i know quite a few people with their harness's run this way, and they have been absolutely fine! never heard anything bad about mounting them this way? ill do abit of research .....

haa, nah none of my mates look like that! if anything im quite the opposite...with a tattoo of 4 emo type stars getting bigger up my arm, and the Jack Dannys top...quite the opposite..haa

Engine wise...its only a 1.2.....i know you may all think whats the point...but when i can get insured on a 16v next year, all of these mods will fit directly to the new car..:) plus ...its lil nippy for a 1.2....33mph in 1st and 63mph in 2nd.....+ the car has only done 12,265 miles so its not like im spending loads of money on a waster...:)

btw...sticker is comin off tonyt! haa ;)

like the rear brace, was gonna do the same thing with mine, i.e mount the harnesses on the rear brace but am holding on untill i find out why its dangerous in an accidant... someone like to explain?

well i am not 100% sure...but

imagine if the back twists in an accident, as that is mounted across chances are it would twist with the car and then pull the belts with it

thats just off the top of my head....

Suicidal if you mount the seatbelts like that.

Ive got a rear strutbrace and 4 points, they're mounted on the rear seatbelt mounts.

and i bet that brace is ally aswell, so will just fold.

very dangerous, it could pop off in an impact and your harnesses would do nothing for you, or as said if the brace gets pulled back it pulls the harnesses with it and crushes you!

how someone can have a mint condition Mk1 with only 12000 miles under its belt... and do that to it amazes me!

sort those harnesses out or get the strut bar welded in, you may not care much about the car but at least think about your own life!

im doing same setup with harnesses in my car, getting brace welded in place with stress plates either side of arch, so wud have to rip arch out before the thing moved....

Can anyone help me with what harnesses to get that i am able to wrap around the brace, ( all the ones ive seen are clip or bolt in..) 3 point preferably ;) :D

are all 4 point harnesses long enough to do this??
or do you have to buy special ones??

i too want to do this,
can someone confim that if the bar is properly weleded in place, it is safe to use??
and any links to the harnesses, and where to get a harness bar from, would be great :p

Get them harnesses of your strut brace, ver dangerous in an accident, run them with a cage or harness bar or atleast runthemon your oem seatbelt fixing points.

Mine are bolted to the seatbelt fixing points, much better option (until a cage arrives ;))

Strut brace = no!

And is this seriously a 1.2?
