New cambelt noise

C

chip16v

I recently helped my friend change the cambelt on his pug 206 and ever since it has made a whineing noise, which increases with the revs.We also changed the tensioner and run it without the aux belt on and the noise is still there.

Has anyone had experiance of this type of noise,or any suggestions on what it could be?

Thank you

mine does this - took it back to the garage and they said its fine, they said that the fact it does it means its on nice and tight.

HOPEFULLY!

its either the belt is too tight, or the tensioners r worn. even if theyr new, dusnt mean theyre any good!lol ive bought quite a few different sets of tensioners over the years, and its sometimes a case of pot luck as to wether its quiet or not.
