A useless local garage. I know i shouldnt have gone there but they are convenient.
Where do i stand now? Can i get them to fix it or get my money back?
Thanks
we "the specialists" are here for a reason
i've redone SO many cambelt jobs on 172/182's i've actually lost count, and had a few garages ring me to be gobby too (i love that part, the smug look on my face is fantastic!)
you MUST MUST MUST use all the tools when doing one
can someone please post a sticky about it!
Not sport specific exactly, but there's extras for vvt, pulley locking tool that only Renault make, and isn't mentioned in autodata. If they went by autodata, they did it wrong
SO there are more tools than the pin in the side of the block and the locking tools at the back of the Cams?
I did the cambelt on mine with my step dad and I've not had a problem with it since. He's done a few though, had a run of them a few weeks back and even he said to me you can't do the job without the right tools otherwise it screws up.

i would have had the water pump changed while they had it all off. i spent a fortune when i had mine done and had everything changed including all vvt gubbins. a bit over the top but piece of mind and i dont have to have it done again.
How can i tell if it needs changing?
Thanks
