New camera - first attemps

Hi,

Got a Nikon D5000 for my birthday last week, still getting used to it lol

Anyway here some photos i've taken over the last week, its been raining here mostly so haven't been that bothered to actually go out or anything.

Bauble, Interior and Motorway pics are really good, the rest are a bit soft.

What settings and lens are you using?

Im using the kit lens atm (18-55mm i think). Umm, i think some were taken on auto, and a few on shutter priority. Still not sure what i'm doing yet with it really.

Yeah some on Auto, some on SP.

Try not to use Auto, and use a tripod, best advice can be had from the guides at the top of the page.

Yea, ill try manual some more.

I bought a cheap tripod from Jessops, does the job.

My only problem is I'm not sure what to take pics of? And I don't want to look too nerdy stood at the side of the road taking pics

Like the interior pic, the clio's light is perfect. Didn't know billabongs came with climate either.
