New Car - Dirty Windscreen

Car  Something Not French
The wife bought a new 1 Series 2months ago; we both love it. However, I cannot seem to clean the windscreen on the interior properly.

I use AF Crystal Glass, when I use it (sprayed direct to glass or on to cloth) you can see a weird 'grease' formation on the glass which seems impossible to remove. The glass looks clean, but gets dirty very quickly & condensates within a couple of days.

Any suggestions? Doing my head in!

I've tried using a new & clean MF and multiple new cotton cloths. I knew AF Crystal has IPA in it; but I will try IPA neat to see if that makes a difference.

Any other suggestions?

I say greasy, but I just can't tell. It looks clean, feels clean but when the AF is drying you can see marks on the glass. They look like water marks on bodywork after its rained they dried in the sun.

If its hard water marks I'd give it a rub over with SRP or the likes... Not sure why they'd be in the inside though :/

Auto Glym Glass Polish is the only thing I've found actually removes the greasy film. For a while you could see 4 big round marks where the suction cups had been placed lol.

Vinegar and newspaper. Get a window cleaners cloth that helps me

Just found I can get that exact stuff from a supplier I use at work, for a mere £1.99 + VAT.
Stick it on another order so work pays for postage. WINNING.

If you can't get your glass clean using a glass cleaner then its either user error or an unclean cloth being used (which technically is still user error)

Just saying

Yes, I can see how using multiple cleaners, multiple new / clean cloths on multiple occasions could be defined as user error.

IPA & glass polish are great ideas, thanks all.

Surely that just backs up my argument? If you can't get it right with various cleaners and cloths then the common denominator in the problems you are facing is you my friend.

Try Rejuvenate pre wax cleanser or Tripple all in one polish either of these work well as glass polishes too and should remove those marks.

Let us know how you get on

Does that not compound Pizza Boy's point? Excuse the detailing pun...

As AF have said, use a cutting product, SRP/Tripple/Rej as they sound like hard water marks or grease. Dirt sticks to these marks, water vapour sticks to the dirt = steaming up windscreen.
