Called brentacre today for a quote to add a remap to my insurance, and they want an extra £200 for 6 months... :dapprove:

Sod that, although 250bhp and a shed loads more torque would have been nice lol

Shame about that Matt, good thing with the clio was that adding a map to it still kept it under the 182 it is rated at with insurance companies.

Look on the bright side, at least Sarah will be pleased you won't be moddifying it much now :)
How are the new wheels coming along?

To be fair, my old 200bhp 1.8T shifted okay (prob 172 performance) and boost is fun, but there is zero involvement.

Revo map and sps switch, map goes on, map goes off, map goes on, map goes off...stealer friendly.

My mates hybrid K04'd BAM is far from mundane..lol

Small Update: Finally managed to get hold of some 18" Monza II's. I know they aren't everyones cup'o'tea but I think they look the business ;)

Yeah not bad mate, bit hectic lately hence not being able to attend the meet last week but the clio is still running sweet so i'm hoping to get to some more meets soon.

I take it the golf is suiting you more than the clio did then?, i have to say i did like my old golf too :)

Good stuff mate. Yeah I'm really loving the car, relaxing and quite when you want it to be and goes like stink when your up for a thrash lol

Best of both worlds really.

You'll have to pop down to the RR day at RS Tuning (dont have to go on the rollers) should be a good day though...

They might not but they also might plug into the ecu and if they find it and refuse to pay out, you'd wish you had come clean when you could lol

Just not worth the risk for me....

Bluefin maps it and puts std map back on come dealer time or insurance claim , but the best bit is it also resets the ecu flashcounter on a mk5 IIRC, so untracable as far as I know. If std map is on car they will then look at the times ecu has been flashed to see if it has been mapped . Revo better map thou I would say . Nice wheels Big Improvement on 17's :approve:.

Apparently quite afew people over on the GTI forums are having problems with the car going into limp mode after the REVO map...

It really highlights other problems with the car. Sensor faults etc...

Absolutely gorgeous car! What's the fuel mpg like on these? How do they stack up to the TDI counter-part? More reliable than the TDI or less.?
