New Clio 172 Owner

Well after a change of circumstances I have now changed from a BMW E90 318i to a phase 2 Clio 172, I bought it on Sunday for £1,550, it has covered 118,000 miles but was a near completely standard car (I don't really like modifying cars) and had the belts changed last Christmas as well as having a full service and a lot of other parts changed (new throttle bodies, battery and a few other bits), so I was more than happy to pay the price I did for it as the old owner got the air con regassed for me and replaced a broken ABS ring. Overall the car is in very good condition for it's age in my opinion.

Since getting it I have noticed a few little niggles that I will soon be getting sorted including (so far):

  • Replacing the exhaust silencer with a standard Renault part it has a non-pattern euro car parts bit on it and I find it a bit too loud and it has an annoying rattle when the VVT kicks.
  • The steering wheel has suffered the same fate as all Clio's and I am looking to get it retrimmed by Snappy.
  • The dog bone mount needs sorting out and I will be buying a powerflex kit for this.
  • I am going to change all fluids just for piece of mind.
  • It may potentially require a new UCH at some point as the indicators flash when the drivers window is fully up

The car will be my daily driver for the next 4 months, to then be leant to my mate for 9 months while I am out of the country and then turned into a track car when I return.
