New Clio 182 Owner and question

Hi,

Just bought my first Clio after driving it and falling in love with it right away. Just one question though, it makes a whistling sound when driven hard, which comes from the engine. Is this normal? It sounds like an air intake. It doesn't sound bad, just wondering if its normal though.

I'm picking it up on Wednesday afternoon and want to make sure all the work that needs doing on it is done.

Look forward to getting some advice off everyone on here.

182s have a whistle from the exhaust just make sure there arnt any little cracks in the exhaust as my whistle got louder and there was a crack in my cat. Exhausts last about 40k on sports so if it's around that or more get on ya hands and knees and check fella.

As said, they whistle a little under hard acceleration, mine was however worse when my cat-mainfold joint had gone. Expensive fixing kit too, £40 !

I had a good look underneath the car, Everything looked good apart from a little rust on the outer part of the exhaust. There was however a little hole in the exhaust which he said he can just weld up. Car has done 60k, looks in really good condition though. Can't wait to pick it up tomorrow.

Welcome to CS mate Hope you enjoy the car , bags of fun for not alot of money ( unless they go wrong lol ) . If the exhaust is original and on 60K it'll be due to drop off at any minute and without warning ,they tend to do that on 1*2's . A nice yozzasport exhaust should sort that out no problem !

Really looking forward to it. Not getting it till tomorrow now. The wait is doing my head in, but it'll be worth it. The guys is giving it a full service including cam belt and aux belt, as well as an MOT. He's got his own work shop, so if anything fails he will just replace it or fix it.

How much is the Yozzasport exhaust, is it loud?

Just paid for the insurance for me and my gf fully comp 596.00 with admiral.

It sounds amazing and looks great. Wouldn't expect much gains but it's alot lighter. Only exhaust I'd buy.

Not a lot to be honest, main reasons for a SS exhaust are better quality and sound over standard. Plus cheaper than replacing it with another crappy renault one. They wanted a silly amount of money for a replacement.
