New Clio 4 in Paris

Ive just come back from a 4 day trip in Paris, France and i see plenty of the new 5 Door clio i even sat in one in a Renault shop and i can honestly say its good news the build quality has come a long way for sure and i really do think the new RS Clio is really going to be a winner here are some pictures of the new clio

What every review has said tbh. Autocar said it is a real looker in the flesh. Think it looks great.

As said many times on here there are very few people who hated the 200/197 and still think the same..

I think it has potential and wouldnt disregard it until i see it in flesh

Those personalisation packs are utter gash. They cheapen the car IMO.

I've been in one and I must say it does nothing for me past the 'oh look, a brand new car' phase. The plastic steering wheel is aweful

It looks really nice in grey, It was a DCI aswell the wheels are a bit chromey for my liking but they look much better in the flesh

Co-developed with Caterham, much more interesting. Possible GT86 rival when it's finished?

Not a huge fan of the Clio tbh.

but no, had abrief look from the outside and decided it wasn't worth looking further... the wheels really aren't much compared to the previous models (looks-wise) and the HUGE badge kills the front end completely tbh

Haha thats the road lol yeah the wheels aint superb if they were black they would be a lot better

I think they would look alot better on simpler wheels like the mark2 ph2 182 wheels... then shrink the badge a bit and they would look awesome all round

De-zir isn't anything to do with Catherham; De-zir represents one of the 7 stages of life - love. Van den acker (new head of design) does a concept car for each stage of life followed by a road going car. De-zir > Clio. You're right though it's pretty simular to the Alpine!

Yes it's an EDC gearbox developed by a company called Getrag.

I can only echo what most people have said about Clio 4. They look really really nice in the flesh, and reception of them was really good on the Clio VIP evenings. They'll definitely sell either way.

I often wish people would stop mistaking new design and softer materials for 'build quality'.

We all know the steering wheels will still melt, and everything will feel like it's about to snap after 12,000 miles. Doesn't stop it being a good car, but come on, if the build quality had really been getting so much better with each new model, they would be Maybachs by now.

They are never going to overtake the equivalent luxury brand.

Getrag? They make/made mini gearboxes, which self destroy after 60k

They also make Ford transmissions. Amongst the best in existence for regular cars.

They're bot all flappy paddle though. They used the gearstick out a mk3 for the manual version.

Not sure what the manual box will be like.

Interesting point. I can't really see any manual Renault ever having a nice gearbox. They don't "do" it.
