new clio few probs???

hello every one, i just got a clio 172 ph1

but it has a couple of problems!

there is a nocking/ banging sound when going over 3k rpm and when pulling away from still?
front fogs dont come on, light comes on ok (havnt checked bulbs yet? hopfully easy fix)
when indicating another display light on the dash, lights up dim?

no central locking key fob?
i only have a renault key, but no button on it.

steering wheel, has worn and feels sticky

wheel shakes stops then shakes going 60mph +

would like to get a set of original alloys, as i think it has aftermarket ones on!

its going to the garage tomorrow, so they may find some more faults!
hope it dosnt cost much to put right and get it back to how it should be

Out of curiosity, why buy it if it is like that? Was it mega cheap?

Knocking and banging could be engine/ gearbox mounts. around £100 for a new set.

Wheel vibrations could be none balanced wheels. Buckeled wheels. Or knackered ball joints (I think. Someone will confirm)

Get some pics up to let us see what wheels you have.

You don't need front fogs. Fog lights are useless. Just take the unit out when it come MoT time.

Steering wheels are s**t and wear really bad. Either look out for one for sale. There is someone who will refurb them (miky something).

Getting a new key from Renault for central locking will be around £150.

Get rid of that exhaust though.

Which garage are you taking it to? A lot of dealers/garages don't know s**t about renaultsport cars. Be careful with your choice of garage.

update!
just heard back from them and its £150 to stop the banging from the blue one!
not too bad i guess, they are ordering the parts, so should be sorted early next week.

have droped the black one off and they are taking a look, at the wobbley wheels, and i think the exhaust as well
may just buy an original set of alloys to swap them over!

its the black one with most of the faults as per the 1st post!

Yeah the 17s might not be the right fitment or just not balanced correctly look gash either way get some 15s on there

why do you need 2 if you dnt mind me asking?

it was bogof, so silly not to take the 2nd :rasp:

they had a look at the black one, and the exhaust heat shield was loose

they took the wheels off to rebalance and noticed it has the wrong spacers for the car/ alloy and told me not to drive it LOL

what are the correct size fitment i will need for some new alloys?

have seen a set like on the blue clio i have, but they have bad scratches on!
would rather get something in good nick to put on there

One of my fogs didn't work when I got mine I cleaned the contacts up on the connector and it worked just fine.
