New Clio from £5,995

I got a letter through the post today, from the renault dealership, offering new cars etc etc. I'm not after a new car but my dad is.

What struck me was they had a picture of a Mk 2 Phase 2 Clio with text underneath saying "06 clio from £5,995"

My questions are;

I take it this is a bottom of the range 1.2 petrol engine with no electric windows etc etc which is fine, but.

Is it a brand new car, or an 06 second hand car?
Will this have a warenty and if so how long?
Will the dealers be open to negotiation on these prices, and as a whole what at are Renault dealer ships like as regards discounts and extras?
Any idea what car it is for £5,995?

isnt it the campus non sport, got electrics windows ect but not the extras like alloys, rear spoiler......

They still make the Mk2 Ph2 from new, and yes the very base model, 1.2 8v with no frills, is available from £5995, but the car is very basic, no alloys, electric windows, or metalic paint.

well my dads having to downgrade due to a a change in financial circumstances. He has had to sell a 911 turbo, so even if he went to a v6 he would be ver ydissapointed. He appreciates he is going to get nothing, we are suprised you would even get electric windows. Spoilers etc etc arent going to bother him.

So how long is the warenty?

I think you'll be lucky to get much lower than that tbh. But its always worth asking.

Got the same letter myself. Nearly dropped my breakfast laughing at the APR - was somewhere between 13-15%! I remember total payments coming out at around 9k, anyway!

The cd player isnt a problem i do part time work building ice installs so I can sort that out, would putting i an aftermarket cd player harm the warrenty?

WE are expecting basic for this price. he was looking at a Kia picanto, so I'm quite happy this has come to his attention!!!

ive got the authentique, which is basically the same.

its alright as a car tbh. CD players are cheap as f**k anyway.

Engine is pretty gutless, but will sit at 80mph and do 400miles to a tank of petrol regardless of motorway or short trips.
