New Clio Sport 182 Owner

  2005 Clio Sport 182
Hi Guys,

New owner here - just purchased a 2005 182 Sport & can't wait to pick it up tomorrow.

First job is probably to get a cambelt / aux belt change - can anyone recommend a reputable garage in Sussex who you would trust to carry out a cambelt change properly?

Will post up some pics when I get my hands on her (the car) ;-)

Cheers,

James.

Hi James,

I just bought a Clio 182 2005 in sussex as well (picked it up on Saturday). I also asked whether there were any decent garages (mine needs a cambelt change too) that would work on the Clio. I spoke with http://www.bss-renault.co.uk/ who quoted me £550 for the lot. Seemed to give good customer service, but I have no idea what their work is like. Baldocks in Haywards Heath quoted me £660 for cambelt and they are a Renault dealer.

Let me know if you find anywhere good!

Cheers

If you're in Sussex, Rentech in Portsmouth is only a short drive away.

Last cambelt change I had done on my Cup there by Mike & co. was only £265 all in (special offer).

Yours will have aircon so won't be quite that cheap but will be much better value than taking it to any Renault dealer in the area.

Rentech have a very good reputation...I've only recently sold my 172 Cup after 9 years and 130k miles...and Rentech were the only ones ever to have had their hands on it.

Will do nit jay. Just spoke with Baldocks and they quoted me £603 all-in (including a discount) - they are literally 5 mins from my doorstep so just got to weigh-up the cost of travel / time doing it elsewhere. Also they have lost their main Renault dealership so no longer sell new Renault but assume they are still reasonably informed.

Thanks Mark will definitely consider them if I plan a trip out - would need to be a same-day job though which I guess is unlikely / not really feasible?

I think so, turn up at 0900, ask nicely and they might drop you somewhere like Gunwharf Quays to browse for the day, then come and get you once all is done.

Either that or the local train station is 5 min walk away which would take you straight there.
