Been to Motorpoint and Renault Derby today looking at Dynamiques with my girlfriend, need a bit of advice on some deals we were offered:

Motopoint

04 1.6 16v a/c - £8995 - on their boomerang finance works out to be £160 per month for 3 years, then u give the car back or pay off whats left. Availlable now! 2 years warrenty

Renault Derby

04 1.6 16v a/c - £10,100 - selections works out to be £170 per month with same as above after 3 years. Only thing is they arent available for 6-12 weeks. 3 year warrenty

Similar deals but are motorpoint cars imports???

Which one guys?

bought my 182 from there 2 weeks ago. car is an import but so far very happy with it. just wish the miles would go a bit quicker. still only another 80 or so till fun time. :D just be careful with the spec. mine came without an alarm which would be standard over here. other than that spot on service, just dont expect any frills.

id go for the second one! depends how long you gota wait if its gona be nearer to 6 than 12 weeks. you get the extra years warranty, more paid off at the end of it and its full UK spec! but you gota wait 4 it!

Id go for the Renault option myself.

Glad to see youre going for the 1.6 ! Thats what I should have done!

Did you haggle the price?

Assuming she is going to get rid of the car after 3yrs the first is the better deal £10 a month is better in her hands than yours.

3 yr warently I belive on all imports unless there from some wierd place I forget what its called though.

I assume your talking about a dynamic+?

What sort of milage was that contract on?

What about a deposit did they want a few grand upfront?

If she was willing to have a 1.2 dynamic + a/c she could probably pay about £2k deposit get a cheap loan for the remainder for (about £200 a month) and own the car so in 3yrs time she has what £4 k in here pocket and all for £30 a month (shed probably save this on insuracne) and the loss of 35hp which she may not notice even.

Plus buying a 1.2 has the advantage of having free insurance for a yr whcih may be worth quite a bit so your g/f could be even better of.

If she realy want the extra power Im sure for a grand you could get ~15hp so the differecne between a 1.6 and moded 1.2 is only 20hp.

i got mine from Derby motorpoint as well, i couldnt be arsed to wait for it from the dealer. i was going to do the booomerang, but got a great loan from sainsburys instead, 6.9% i think better than 10.6 %@ motorpoint.

doesnt make a difference about import or not, its still made by renault in the same factory with the same quality checks. what difference does it make if a french or dutch person puts the parts on. i have a full english documentation etc..

im sure i saw a delivery of cars to renault from holland anyway.;)
