New clutch fitted to my 16v, can't select reverse!

Guys,

Ive just had a new original renault clutch fitted to my 95 plate 16v.

The problem is I cant get reverse without it grinding like a good one!

I have to switch the engine off otherwise it just grates badly.

Any ideas what the problem is?

Gear selector perhaps?

It could be any number of reasons. Is it just reverse it does this in if not then it could be the release bearing if you did not get a new one fitted at the same time or it could be it is sticking or has not been installed correctly such as too tight or not being centred on the shaft very well.
Someone may come along and tell you more.

I had this when I had mine done - try slotting it into 2nd, then forward into first, then into reverse. Worked for me as it stopped the grinding and also meant that I didn't have to turn the engine off to get it into reverse then start up again lol

Mine fixed itself over time - I believe the pedals are self adjusting?
