Was the best position i could think of at the time.

a good idea that is, i assume u took that plastic thing out.
can u tell any difference?

does anything stop the ait blowing the pipe down and preventing getting air in there?

also what sort of pipe is that?

its the pipe andy905 is selling in the for sale section, feels a bit different when u get into the higher rev range. dunno about the pipe blowing down but i tied it onto a pipe and the pipe doesnt bend easily!!!

There may not be room to do this, but would I be silly to suggest it would get a better air flow if it went straight down from the air box to the grill rather than going down and round across the front of the engine and then bending straight again?

not sure theres room tbh.

dave, why dont u pull the original pipe end from down near your frint light and attach its on this new piece?

Thats ALOT of cold air getting in mate...I'd be careful with that...Even tho it's a 1.4.

tbh, i'd imagine the original location would have been better, or relocating it to the bottom grille.

i contemplated putting a cold air feed to my viper in a similar location, but a few people suggested it was counter productive.

the engine dont get hot at the front tho, the fule rail protecter wernt hot after driving thats y i run it along the front + there is no space to get it down to the bottom grill otherwise i would of done. this is they only logical position i could see where it was easy to fit, the rad covers most of the area.

the original position is crap, behind the headlight facing sidewards.

^ not for me i've had it both behind the grille and presently in the original and the original is by far the best

surely front facing gets more air

probabaly not, the aerodynamics of the car are prob forcing the air up opposed to in your induction kit which is why loads of people put it in the bottom grille, which is also quite counter productive as the length of the hose is monstorous, and by the time it gets there the air is prob gonna be warm.

In the original position cold air is circulated in the wheel trough, and the feed doesnt get warm anywhere from the engine, or very little. I've found it much better anyway.

no way is the air going to get warm by the time it get to/through the air filter and into the engine when your moving along, maybe if your moving at 5 mph or at a standstill it could get warm but when moving surly the air will be moving quickly through the pipe straight onto/thought the air filter and into the engine.

You could actually take the plenum off and put the feed straight to the filter housing it connects too if you could work out how to get around the air filter housing being oval. Sounds the dogs danglys with the plenum off as i've tried it and . Am thinking about getting some ducting and trying it, would be worth it for the noise.

maybe not, but as i said i've tried both and putting the feed into the original position really made a difference. Also had lots of probs with the pipe ripping etc when it was in the bottom grille due to the length of the thing. At the end of the day its whatever suits you, as said i found it better in the original position, other people think otherwise, personal preference at the end of the day :)

lmao, it sounds quality and my car spins the wheels easier but this is just sucking hot air from the enging bay, surly the worst think you can do if you listen to the people on here??

i was gonna make a double intake using the 6 holes in the bottom of my splitter and have it meeting and going up the front of the engine. never got round to doing it though!

ive got a viper on mine which is connected to the std position behind the head light. i cant see how this can be a bad thing as if u look down u can see the outside world so must be pretty cool when going along.

seems to have made it more responsive and pull harder but it might just be my imagination

Yeh as far as I can see the only bad things it'll do is suck in hot air, though a cold air feed to the original location or elsewhere would sort that out, I can't see it causing any problems and there is the ace noise bonus.

sorry deleated all the pics from photo bucket yesterday, wil have some pics up of the car on friday when i clean it hopefully if there is no rain!
