New engine from Renault quick question.

If renault are replacing the engine and the old one had already done 36,000 miles, will / should they reset the milage back to 0?

and if i were due for a cam belt change next year will this still be the case once the new engine is fitted?

I don't think they'll reset the mileage dude, 'cause it doesn't represent the rest of the car then on wear and tear etc.

You wont need the cambelt doing, but keep the receipt for services so the garage no its interval. Id look at finding somewhere to reset the clocks legally.

u wont get ur mileage reset and ur new engine will have a fresh belt, so 5 yearsor 72k till next change

you wont get it reset as the mileage isnt just for the engine,all the other mechanical parts will be on a time/mileage scheme aswell,plus when my engine went they never replaced mine they just sent all the bits off to be worked on and rebuilt it

Hmm really? I wouldn't of thought it to be economically viable to strip and engine and rebuild it, I would of thought they would have just ordered another one and sold the old one to a scrappy or something

Old engine goes back to Renault and they reuse it to make other rebuild engines the places who rebuild them can do it easy enough they do it all day so are setup for the job
