New engine query

Hi all - for all who have had a new engine put in their car.. What did they do afterwards?.. What im trying to ask are things like : What to do with the dials? - When do you service(at 12k on new engine or carry on as if old engine was still in) - DVLA informed? - insurance informed? - First oil change, 1k? 5k? 10k? etc?? - 3 year warrenty runs out on the car THIS september but the nwe engine / box and clutch had been done a month ago so i get a year from May 2005 dont i?

a brand new engine should have a oil change after the first 1000 miles, then every 6000 to 10000, if its the same engine, ie replacement, then just fill in you log book with the different engine number on it and job done. as for the warrenty, the new engine/gearbox, should haveits own one so should be separate from the car one.
