what price am i looking at for a 1.6 clio engine,

cant do a 2.0 as insurance is crazy so thought id go for a 1.6, are they quick or what?

also what stats do they have? and can it got straight into my 1.2 16v?

Would it bo ok with the same gearbox ect ect.........

No point bothering for a 1.6

1.6 16V is 110hp or so.

Straight fit but you need a fair few bits I'd make a list but there a few ways round problems easy way is a whole transpant in which case its as much work as a 2.0.

Never understand why people do engine conversions, unless it's MASSIVE engine in a small car, as it's always cheaper to just buy a faster car?

  FOR SALE!!!
would a 1.8 16v fit in to a mk2 phase 1 clio as these are a lot cheap to buy then a 172 all the work is going be dun by me and my mate to keep the cost down would i need custom engine mounts if so not a prorblem as my other mate can get these made would love the 172 but just aint got the 1500 for an engine see few valuer engines on ebay etc for 200-300 no they will need bit of work but this fine to what do you guys think yes our no thanks guys

it will fit been done before how difficult it is depends how you go about it but best of buyin g a whole 1.8 16V for the parts as you need gearbox and ideally the dials wiring loom ecu etc.

get 1.6, remove engine number plate, fit plate onto 2 litre.

job done. Not that I condone that sort of behaviour...

the 1.8 16V old engine isn't worth the hassle

the 1.6 is a good bit quicker than the 1.2, the extra torque means its a much less tiring thrash the arse off it of a drive.
