New engine

  Nothing yet.....
I am very unlucky with cars, I have had 2 sales fall through already in as many months (grr) and I'm getting fed up!! I'm not hugely rich as I'm a student and only work part time, but I really want a clio.

I've seen one advertised on ebay, but it has problems (engine and oil pump are damaged) but otherwise the car is in good condition. I was wondering how much you think is reasonable for a reconditioned engine, and whether it matters what engine I get (as in if it matters what year?? etc??) I'm not very technical minded and I really don't want to get screwed over!

Sorry for the long winded message but I'm desperate for advice!!

(Have I put this in the wrong thread?? If I have I'm sorry!!)

£1-300 for engine but good little runners. wouldn't buy a car with that damage. means the owner has really not cared for the car. by letting it get low on oil or not regular servicing.

Lots of 1.2 16V engines on ebay, I have 1 available too :)

But it is high mileage ;)

It would be best not to rush and get a decent motor to start with though
