New here, custom made exhausts

Hey Guys & Girls,

My name is Nathan, you can call me (N8, nate).Im 19 years old and Ive just bought an 02 plate Iceberg Silver 172 from City Motors in Bristol (thats where Im from). Its gorgeous. Ive already got my 17"s that are going on there and I pick it up next saturday.

Its already got tints on there (smoked) and it looks wicked. I would like a custom made exhaust made up, with a twin exit. Preferably a pipe on either side of the bumper. Has anyone hear got a 172 with a custom made system? Any recommended places?

But also - depends what you want. Powerflow... Remus....? Looks, noise or performance? There are several on here anyway!

Hey Jon & Charlie....lol - isnt that the insurance thing expensive? Damn right

I was enough, put it that way, in fact more than enough!!!

Ive heard Powerflow are rubbish, thats what Ive been told! I want it to look nice and sound nice, basically thats my criteria boys. Any more guidance After I get the exhaust I wanna get an induction kit as well.

Ive Got a Mk2 172 and got a custom made exhaust from longlife. It cost me about £350 for cat back but it is sh*t hot. You can choose how loud it is, a word of advice I would go for the Mild sport cause that is loud enough-I manage to set car alarms off with it. I got mine in Cardiff but I think they have a place down in Weston Super Mare. You can choose whatever tailpipe you want and it has a lifetime guarantee.

If you want a dual exit that may be a bit tricky cause they have to take out the Spare wheel area.

i would avoid the twin one either side of the car tbh as most of thm are designed with look rather than performance in mind. but if you are determined to have one in that stlye go for remus or hayward & scott (think thats what they are called f**king expensive tho) rather than these bodge it and weld it systems you get at alot of exhaust centres ive seen some horrific welding and just generally crap systems that have been supposedly custom made. some of them end up in a loss of performance so something to bear in mind

Do you think it is better to get off the shelf or custom made?

I got a quote for a 172, brand new one, 18, 1 years NCB, £2500 3rd party, £3880, fully comp, that was wiht elephant.co.uk, only online quoting thing that was working

ah man! i need to move! 172 for me is £5500 fully comp per year! im 25 got 6years ncb and 6 years full liscence.

i got my exhaust from powerflow, which is pretty good. im sure they will be able to sort out what you need
