New iceberg 172 owner :-)

took a trip down to mansfield friday morning and went to view a rather sexy iceberg 172 51 plat, 77 thousand miles ,tax n tested ,full service history, cam belts been done not sure about the aux belt though, new clutch 7k miles ago and new brakes ,plenty of other stuff been replaced in the history so gave it a test drive all seemed ok. needs the spot lights lookin at as they dont work and one is cracked ,trackin needs re aligning and could do with a service .other than that seems ok ,looks gorgeous abd is imaculate inside .
got it for £2500
thing is battery was dead when went to start it up coz it had been stood and didnt know the stereo code so drove all the way home hour n half journey on the motorway to bradford using my phone asa source of music..got home rang the previous owner to find the stereo code was in with the paperwork... b*****d!!! lol

hello peeps,

ok i to am a new owner of an iceburg 172. she lovely to, trouble is i was driving home from work just now n hit a very minor bump and i mean minnor and.............................. bbbbbrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr my whole car started vibrating when the engines under load. dip the clutch and rev and its fine. ive narrowed it down my self to an engine mount but i not sure. any ideas any body????? shes a 52 plate with 62000 on the clock. if its this is it a very expensive repair as iv just saved for a cam belt n 182 blower from k tec.

aye same here, wheres the gold though?? and another question,where do you take your car for servicing ,checks work carried out etc. ive got a garage that does work for my parents at good prices but im liking the idea of these renault specialist ,googled one in leeds but theres no info whatsoever on their website!

The gold only really shows up on sunny days .......it's like a glitter under the surface you don't normally see unless it's bright.

I took mine to RS murray in leeds when i had my belts and brakes done, the owners are the parents of Paul from RS tuning in leeds to whom i shall be paying a visit too very shortly for a re map .........it's where most clio owners up in't north go for a rolling road session.
Paul could do most repairs in his place too though i think.
you might want to go for an RR yourself one day, just to see what power you car is making, i was sadly shocked but the fix is in the pipeline for me now

sadly shocked??? is that an age related drop in power comment? lol yea thats the one i saw RS murray. and looked at RS tuning too,
well ive got it booked into renault kineholme tommoro for the Free summer health check ,so see what theyve got to say needs attention them probs take it to RS murray. i know my bonnet catch needs looking at, it doesnt open the bonnet unless someone else is there to pull the bonnet up at the same time as some1 pulling the leaver! :-S ???

Can't be fully sure yet but i think my power loss was due to me being a numpty and having a hand built exhaust system made.......i lost power straight away from the moment i picked the car up from them but soon forgot as it was only peak power(above 5k revs).......till i had it on the RR this year and realized that was the problem(system choking the gasses or not allowing enough back pressure to build up) so now i'm getting a proper Yozza system and hopefully this will be a magic cure then i can get it mapped and if i'm really lucky i might make 180 bhp then i can get it back to york raceway and see if it makes a difference to my quarter mile time
