New instrument panel - mileage back to 0

Had a new instrument panel put in yesterday, in order to solve the problems with the needles trying to drill through the zero stops when I start the car. That seems to have done the trick, but I now am the proud owner of a 172 with only 9 miles on the clock... and new squeeks from the dash

The garage has put a note in the log book, but surely there must be some way of putting the old mileage back on? Is this going to have any knock on effect when I come to sell?

At least I dont have to run it in until 750... ;)

?????????

Thats weird as i thought the ecu stored the mileage. the module should have a serial connection and renault should be able to restore the milage.

yeah mate. i have just baught my 172 off someone on this site. it had a new head put in at 7k. and the milage was wiped. i dont think it makes no diff. if its in the log. and you have all the recepts. it should be ok. however if you find out how to get the milage on let es know. thanx.

lol, Ill take it to a clocker and and ask them to put the mileage up! ;)

Cheers gary, ive got all the docs etc. so Ill not worry.

I have had exactly the same experence and have the buzzing noise since it was replaced. Mines done 12k and only says 3k on the clock!

The panel was replace due to the trip computer millage reseting itself. I cant help but think there may have been a less bruttle way of sorting the problem!

In the back of autotrader look for people that specialise in digital dashes they will be able to correct it for you. I know someone who had a rover done (but the other way ;))

  172 cup,s2 rs turbo

you cant alter the mileage on new renault trip displays and unlike on other models the mileage is only stored in the instrument panel.
