New iPad Help

Hi Applers.

Ive just purchased a new iPad.

I turned it on and went through the set-up.

I set it up as a new iPad as ive never had one before. I was under the assumtion that it would download all my apps from my phone and other content and mirror it on the iPad.

Is this not how it works ?

Is there a way to do this ?

Have you backed up on to iCloud then downloaded it on to the iPad?

I think you can use the 'Transfer Purchases' feature on iTunes? You can also set the setting in Settings > iTunes and apps (or similar) to get any new purchases that you download one other devices! I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong though!?

My iPhone is backed up to the cloud.

I didn't select to download from the cloud on setup I just clicked the 'New iPad' option.

I thought the same, just go into the app store / iTunes and redownload everything. It's free.
