wasnt that for the AST top mounts? I remember them having issues, but I havent seen a thread slating the k-tec ones?

the old k-tec ones were like the compbrake ones. i had a set of those and they wouldn't stop rattling. these look totally different and they bolt to the turrets so the should not move anywhere and should be 100% better imo.

There is a thread mate.
K-Tec are currently looking into it, but no news so far.
I have the original K-Tec ones fitted, and get some strange noises.

These new ones look slightly revised to me, hopefully eliminating the problems the old ones have/had.

hopefully these are made out of better quality material than the last ones.

the design still isnt perfect but if they have gone for better rose joints it cant be any worse.

Wow I just bought the solid mounts a few weeks ago and it got delivered to a friend's house in the UK last friday! And I paid 149 for them (on a 1470 pounds order including KW V2s, braided brake lines, bearings, poly bushings, etc...)!

That sucks for me... but I do like the old golden versions (I'm assuming they sent me the old ones as I'll only get the package in 15-20 days).

honestly its so much better. mine were shattered to pieces when i took them out, Mine have started clicking ( still drives great ) but Ktec are replacing them at no cost when i get up there at some point.

Have you driven a car with different top mounts, I just found the steering was tighter and more direct with my AST topmounts.

5 mm smaller than the hole in the strut, rubber o-rings either side of the hole which get chewed up, and held in place with lock rings that bite into the strut, then rust.

Sounds like the original supplier of the k-tec ones, changed to a cheaper bearing than was originally specified. Should be fine now they're using someone else
