New member looking for new track car hopefully clio 172 or 182

Hi All

I've currently got a lotus elise which i've owned for about 5 years. A couple of years back I fitted a 2 litre t series turbo to it to give it a bit more poke for trackdays and what not. It goes like a missile but we've just had a baby and i never use it really so i'm trying to sell it.

However I dont want to pack in the track days all together so I just want something worth less money that if I only use it 2 or 3 times a year its no big deal so I was thinking of a 172 or 182 clio.

Thing is I dont know that much about these cars so I thought I'd come here to get some more info. I'm not sure this is the place to post this but hey i'm a noob!!

I was just wondering what sort of mods would make it a track weapon more on the suspension and brakes side of things. don't wanna go too wild on the engine as i want to keep some reliability with it as I'll drive it to and from track days.

Coilovers, wilwood brakes, and throttle bodies. That is what i would do to my track toy.

If I was in your position, I would get a phase 1 172.

I saw a phase one 172 on ebay a while back but talked myself out of getting it. It was caged, stripped out, coil overs, r888's just what I wanted but it sold and I wish i'd just bought it

For what you want it's gotta be a phase 1 or a 172 cup.

The suggestions Daniel made are pretty much the standard mods for fast road/track Clio's.

What sort of cash on top of a standard car are we talking with those mods then?
