New Pads / Discs

Ok ive got a 1.4RT and everybody who owns one knows the braking is more than sh*te.

so i wanna cheap upgrade... any ideas?

the thing is i didnt really want to do any converisions i.e. GTT setp up or 16V setup.

ideally just swap the discs and pads for "cheap" performance set.

  Skoda Fabia vRS

dont bother mate

i had Tarox 40 groove on my old RT brakes, cost a lot, brakin was still sh*te

upgrade to the 16v setup, even cheap 2nd hand stuff is a LOT better for braking

ive got some 16v bits for sale in the forum and it all basicaly just bolts on

WHy not go for 16V bits, ultimately is exactly the same process for replacing the pads and discs anyway.

Im wanting to upgrade my clio to the 16v brakes.

Is it easy to do?

I know that I will need:

Calipers
Carriers
Shorter Bolts
Discs & Pads

Any idea how much I could get that lot for, Im thinking either wait till someone brakes a clio or scrapy.

Will be a shame though as ive not that long ago had new pads

I dont have a RT or anything, i have a 53 plate 1.2 16v on it ive got Black Diamond 270mm fast road cross drilled n grooved discs with black diamond fast road pads all supplied and fitted for £195 inc VAT. I found that the standard brakes on it from brand new they were crap so thats why i changed em.

Cheerz, Alan.

i guess we agree renault underestimate the braking power needed for our 1.2s and 1.4;s ;)

i could do the fitting myself, but was hoping cheap option like real cheap

Yeah the brakes on the smaller engine renos seem to suck. Guess you wont get decent brakes unless you buy a willy, 172 etc.

Dynamics have the same front end setup as the GTT, Valver and Williams so its not a bad setup. IMO its good if it can out perform the tyres grip ie kick the ABS in then its over spec. Ive never managed to realy fade mine and that some heavy driving. Groved disks have less power but resist fade more.

Ok edde, but i really only got the brakes for the looks, also the fact the standard brakes "I" didnt feel that they were that great n its ok sayin that my dynamique has the same set up as the valvers and 5 ts etc, but am guessin that they got bigger discs calipers etc?

Plus i was only tryin to help the guy out.

Soory if you took it to mean I was sl*gging you of didnt mean to. Ive got enough people who hate me in the real world dont need any more. I know you were only trying to give your own advice on the situation

The calipers, disks and pads are as far as I am aware the same but the new Clio is heavier so the braking is less.

Nothing wrong with getting the brakes for there looks, I sometimes think though that people make out modifed parts to be the best thing since sliced bread wereas there not always.

Yeah i know what you mean with the whole lets go and spend on big brakes filters, exhuasts etc.
